Rushlake Media is glad to announce the acquisition of the worldwide rights of The Legend of the Vagabond Queen of Lagos by the Nigerian filmmaker group The Agbajowo Collective ahead of its world premiere at the 49th Toronto International. Film Festival.
Jawu, a young mother from a waterfront slum in Lagos, stumbles upon a horde of corrupt blood money marked for a real estate development that threatens her home. Overcoming isolation and temptation, she must stand as a unifying force in a community that stands to lose everything.
The film was backed by Durban FilmMart, The Sundance Institute and the Berlinale World Cinema Fund. The cast includes Temi-Ami Williams (This is My Desire) and Nollywood veteran Debo Adedayo.
